AAB Interior Design Program

VMCAD’s Associate of Applied Business Degree in Interior Design students learn how to manipulate three-dimensional space; creating functional, safe and aesthetically pleasing residential and commercial environments. The curriculum, taught by industry professionals, emphasizes research techniques, critical thinking skills and professional responsibility. This 108 credit hour program can be completed in eight quarters or 24 months.

Our Interior Design program promotes understanding of the human experience in a space. A series of studio classes provide students with the tools needed to explore, identify, and creatively resolve a variety of design problems. A strategic sequence of courses enable graduates to thrive in a variety of entry-level Interior Design positions. Students are required to complete additional documented internship hours in the Kitchen and Bath industry to qualify to take the Associate of Kitchen and Bath Design (AKBD) exam upon graduation.

The department has an active student chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA).
