Gaining the ability to see top designs and to understand how they were constructed will prepare students to make their own design decisions. The Fashion Design Archives feature a collection of over 800 pieces of designer clothing dating back from the late nineteenth century to today. Unlike a museum where students can only look at the clothing from a distance, VMCAD students are able to handle these garments from the inside out. This allows design students to learn high-end couture techniques used by the world’s best designers.
Women’s Wear Daily digital newspaper covers breaking news in the high-end fashion industry, a must have for all aspiring designers.
